Hi.  We are a multilingual family in southern California and we are looking for families who are interested in exchanging English children's books for some in French and German.  Our daughter is 2.5 years old, so we're especially interested in picture books and early readers.  Is there anyone who'd like to trade books or who has French or German resources (music/audio CDs/films/books/magazines/games/ANYTHING!) they're willing to pass along?  We're open to all things used or new.

You can also e-mail me at sarah@becomingsarah.com

I recommend marygoldbooks on Ebay for French books. She offers a great kids selection. She ships out of Canada but shipping for the US is included!

For French books, check out http://www.LesPetitsLivres.com. It's a book rental service for children's books in French for 0 to 12 years old. Great selection and quality titles.

For German books and resources you could check out http://www.abckinderladen.com and http://alphabet-garten.com/

A B C Kinderladen has way more selection of books, dvd, cds, games etc. Alphabet Garten is a smaller company but they have some really good books, cds, and dvd selection too. I have ordered from both and have had good experiences with both companies.

They don't have many novels, comics or for kids over 12, but then I would go to amazon.com or ebay.com and I have often found quite a good selection.

I have one German chapter book that´s looking for a good home, bought it by mistake! I would also like any good French resources and will check out the link above.  I am currently looking for any French games on CD-ROM that could run on Windows 95 (the Kindergartener´s computer!)  Merci!

Hi,

http://www.lecturesdefrance.com is a US-based company that has lots of books in French for all levels of readers, children and adults.  It's an easy to use website, too.

Also, World of Reading, Ltd. has all languages, but not as much selection: http://www.wor.com–they're a great company to work with, very fair on shipping.

Good luck!

Another online French-language bookstore is http://www.moustachebooks.com. Lots of books in French for kids and adults, and based in NYC so quick shipping to U.S. addresses. Check out the other stores listed here too – you will surely find what you are looking for somewhere!

http://www.FrenchBooksOnline.com has tons of French language books. I've been shopping with them for about 10 years and have always had excellent service. My daughter has loved every book I've bought from them over the years and she has become quite fluent.
