Hello everyone,

I'm a  German elementary school teacher and always find stuff that I can't use any more because we are using different material every few years. So I would be able to send you textbooks (Fibel, Sprachbuch) and  accompanying workbooks for grade 1-4  for only the cost of the shipping. I usually travel with a half-full suitcase when coming to the states during my summer break (a woman needs space for new clothes…). So that would be a good opportunity to arrange something, too.

I also have a lot of worksheet material to printout which I could send via email.

Feel free to contact me.

Hi Katjes,

I'd be interested in learning more! I teach at a German Saturday school, and I'm also raising my son (only 15 months old  now) with German. Can you tell me more about what you have? I'd also be interested in your worksheets! You can email me at katemcc9@yahoo.com.

Danke!

Kate

I'm also interested for my kids (7 and 9). Could you also recommend popular books for those age groups? I find Amazon.de to be so overwhelming!

Thanks,

Thea (redhome@thea.org)

Katjes,

I am a College Student at Cornell University currently planning an after-school program for introducing German to Elementary School students.  I find myself often planning classes in college format with lots of note taking but I know this is not the best way for the children to learn. I would greatly appreciate any tips and/or material you have for me. Thank you so much for you time!

Hello Katjes!

Your post was the first result that appeared in my search for materials to teach my kids (12, 10) German at home as a part of our homeschooling, so I'm excited and hoping you haven't been overwhelmed and tapped out!! I'm very interested in whatever you can offer both in terms of materials and guidance. Really, I'm looking for materials to teach the actual language, not necessarily other subjects in that language. The children are in 5th and 7th grades and our daily lessons only take about 4 hours, so I'm hoping to add something of great value, the learning of another language, to their day. If it's not too much trouble, please reply to me at tjo2go@gmail.com. If you're "done" with this, I completely understand.

Thank you so much!

Terri
