Language Challenge 180: Week 15 Giveaway

Sing with Senor - Language Challenge 180Multilingual Living is delighted to announce its next Language Challenge 180 giveaway prize – this time for the lovely, fun and enjoyable CD “Uno Dos” from the band, Sing with Señor! This giveaway will only be open for 7 days, so enter today!

One of the most enjoyable ways to learn a language, especially for children, is to learn it through songs. There is something about our brain that tends to hold onto words and sentences when they are joined with music. Think about those annoying jingles that we can’t get our of our heads, no matter how hard we try!

The song-writer of Sing with Señor, Felipe Canete, used to teach Spanish to middle school students. They were the inspiration for him to pick up his guitar one day and to sing an original song to help with language learning. The rest, as they say, is history: From that point on, Felipe started writing songs that both fit his students’ curriculum as well as made language learning fun. Luckily for us, he is now focusing on music 100%! Keep an eye on this band – more great things are to come from them!

Watch this lovely video from Sing with Señor of their “Uno, Dos” song – I love it!:

Hello. I would love to win a copy of this CD, because even though I’ve been concentrating on Bambara here, my girl attends a Spanish-only day care, and Spanish is a language that I have never studied. Music and songs are a great way for us to explore the language that she already understands, and probably speaks (just not to me) together.

We would love this–We all sing “Uno Dos” compulsively. We even made sock puppets, like the video!

My interest in learning another language started when we went on vacation to Spanish speaking countries. I would like to be ble to speak with them in their language. I attended Spanish classes at the resort, but it left me wanting more. I have borrowed a Spanish course from the library and have watched some Spanish TV. I enjoy it when our grandson counts along with me in Spanish and French. Children are little sponges and I would like to share this CD with our grand children.

I’d like to win a copy of “Sing with Señor” because our family is currently learning Spanish. Also, we love music and find it a pleasurable way to learn a lot of things, including languages.

We would like the CD, because our son is learning Spanish at school, and this would be very helpful.

My daughters love to sing, and I often play Spanish music for them in the car. It seems to be one of the best ways for me to get them to speak the language. Sometimes they’ll sing along if they know the song, or they’ll sing it later on as they’re playing in the house. I’m always looking for new songs for them.

I especially like folk tunes. I still remember “De Colores” from my high school Spanish class and I’ve added “Que llueva” to my list of favorites.

I would like this CD to learn some Spanish with my son and some of our friends here are from Spanish speaking countries so we could have fun with them too. Prehaps aSpanish themed playdate!
