Congratulations! You made it through Week 2 Activities! How did it go? We hope you were inspired and motivated all week long!
We also hope you have been able to find all of the resources you needed this week in your target language. If not, make sure to go to the language page(s) and ask for some advice at your target language page right away! Look at the comments that have been left by others and/or ask for help in the comment section of your target language(s) page(s)! Next Monday language learning will continue full steam ahead so make sure you have some resources to ultilize!
Every Friday you will receive an email prompting you to check in and pointing you to the next giveaway. The “check-in activity” will be different each week, so make sure to read it! The idea is to stir things up a bit and make checking in a fun and productive part of your family’s language learning adventure.
Starting next week, we will have some wonderful articles to share with you written by experts on language learning! You won’t want to miss these. We will let you know about these articles in our emails that we send to you, but also keep an eye on the Multilingual Living website throughout the week, just in case.
In case you missed it, check out a great article about urban youth language use by Prof. Jacomine Nortier. It is fascinating! If you have ever code-switched, you will appreciate this article!
Today’s Check-In Activity
Note: You can only enter this week’s giveaway if you are (1) signed up for Language Challenge 180 and (2) completed the week’s check-in below.
- Check-In Activity: In the comment section below, please write at least one sentence (can be as short as you want!) in the language that you and/or your children are learning.
The sentence can be as simple as “My name is…” or as complex as outlining what you did this week in your language. Don’t worry about grammar errors! If you are transliterating from another script into Latin letters, just do your best. Don’t worry about making a mistake!
Note: If you are passing on your native or non-native language to your children, then leave us a comment in that language about what you did to pass on your language to your child(ren) this week.
- Giveaway: After you leave a comment below, head over to today’s giveaway and enter! You are now qualified!
Don’t forget to visit the Multilingual Living Forum to find or start a discussion with others doing Language Challenge 180. You do NOT have to log in to post there! We encourage you to ask questions, share information and give one another support.
Keep an eye out for your next email which will arrive on Monday!
