The Foundation for International Understanding Through Students

Multilingual Living is delighted to have the opportunity to spread the word about a fantastic organization: The Foundation for International Understanding Through Students (FIUTS).

My husband and I have personally benefited from this program when we arrived in Seattle for the first time in 1995. It was such a relief to be picked up at the airport by our host family and to be given a first-hand tour of the city. Our host family helped us find an apartment, explained how to get around the city via public transportation, and helped us organize everything we needed to get started in Seattle. All of this in addition to accommodation and meals in their lovely home. The most wonderful part of our experience is that 16 years later we are still close with our FIUTS host family. They even organized a baby shower for us when I was pregnant with our first child in 2001!
