Time for Some Multilingual Word Discovery

by Corey · 0 comments

This activity is for your multilingual child who can read.

Create a grid with at least 4 squares across and 4 squares down (16 squares total) and then fill the squares with letters. You will probably want to repeat some letters, especially vowels. Then together with your multilingual child, find words in your language that are created by letters adjacent to one another (next to one another as well as diagnally).

For more learning opportunities, write down the words that you find and read over them again after you are done playing.   Encourage your child to create sentences with the words for even more multilingual fun!

Create many different letter grids and see what you can find.

Let me know how you have adapted this activity for your growing multilinguals!
